There are five stages to the Protex system, starting with high pressure power washing. This process removes any dirt, loose paint, stains and foreign substances, plus anti-fungicidal solutions are a necessary part of this stage. Patching and repairing follows, where cracking, substrate defects and other major surface repairs are taken care of prior to application. Part three of the exterior wall coating process is trenching and masking, with the former taking place around all foundations to a depth of around four to six inches to ensure a neat and tidy line at ground level. By masking all surfaces not to be coated, we can also ensure the neatness of the application, with things such as doors and windows carefully covered to protect them from spillage or over-spray. A slush coat is the penultimate stage, which is an undercoat that weatherproofs the substrate carried out with a brush or roller.
